Lord Nelson Room
A room with a beautiful, classic feel perfect for both stand up and sit down occasions.
The lively central bar area features a large hardwood Jarrah bar surrounded by stools with a row of high bar tables on the opposite wall. It has a related public bar atmosphere and everyone is welcome for a drink! It's a popular area for after work drinks, meeting up with friends or having a friendly chat with our bar staff. We have ice cold beer on tap, always poured into a chilled glass with your choice of handle or no handle. It's a great spot for a beverage with a music playlist of modern and classic pub tunes, large TV's and a HMS victory bell adorns the bar - and the rule is; if you ring the bell, you should the entire bar!
A Victorian-style parlour was traditionally the best room in the house, decorated with ornate furnishings and reserved for special occasions or special visitors. In portrayal of this aesthetic, the parlour at The Lord Nelson features an eclectic design showcasing beautiful bright green wallpaper embossed with glittering white, colourful antique style chairs and crystal chandeliers. It is an elegant setting offering a unique and intimate dining experience.
Neighbouring the bar is our main dining area most popular with people wanting to sit in a more relaxed environment. An elevated clear glass ceiling covers the specious area giving it a unique outdoor feel, allowing diners to bask in the sunlight all day. It is an extremely popular place for those wanting to eat an informal meal with friendly service and with close access to the bar. The Jarrah floorboards, burgundy booth settings against the walls and dark timber furniture give it the look of a classic steak house with paintings of the HMS victory on the walls along with other naval memorabilia.
With comfortable armchairs, coffee tables and chesterfield sofas, the lounge offers a quiet place to sit, relax and enjoy a drink while reading the paper.
The Beer Garden
Geelong's biggest beer garden opened in January 2014 and has been a huge success. With the hand made bar, nautical relics from the past & bright sunshine, this is surely also Geelong's best beer garden.
The perfect place for a function, to relax and watch the footy or have a Sunday afternoon beer, you won't be disappointed.
